Turtledove (Tourterelle) Cottage can be found in one of the prettiest floral villages in Brittany on the banks of the River Blavet.There are two adjoining cottages, Hedgehog (Herisson) Cottage is next door.
The cottages are perfectly situated in the centre of Brittany giving access to all the wonderfully diverse scenery, activities, medieval towns, both north and south coasts and lakes. Walking, cycling, fishing and water sports are all close by and are very popular in this area.
The cottages can be rented individually or together. Open All Year. The cottages are suitable whether you are looking for a relaxing or an adventure filled holiday, spring or winter breaks or a lovely cosy Christmas.
The heated pool is shared between the two cottages but each cottage has their own fully enclosed, private garden with patio, table, chairs, sun loungers and barbecues. Hedgehog (Herisson) Cottage is a cosy traditional cottage 200 yards from the River Blavet in the centre of the lovely floral village of St Nicolas des Eaux where you will find a selection of bars and restaurants. Turtledove Cottage is adjoining and they can be rented individually or together. The cottages are available all year round, including Christmas. Fishing is available by permit all year round.
There are eight bicycles of varying sizes for guests to use and two kayaks to take on the river. Lots of fun!
Hedgehog Cottage is a traditional beamed cottage with two double bedrooms.
The living/dining room has a three piece leather suite, coffee table, flat screen television with English satellite tv and dvd player. There is a good sized dining table and chairs. A high chair can be supplied on request.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. There is a washing maching, iron and ironing board, washing line and pegs.
The double bedroom has a double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and dressing table.
The second bedroom has twin beds, chest of drawers and wardrobe. There is space for a put up bed or cot, both can be supplied on request.
There is a cloakroom with wash hand basin and toilet upstairs and shower room with cubicle, wash hand basin and toilet downstairs.
The above ground swimming pool is at the rear of the garden and is shared with Turtledove Cottage. There are also swings and a blow up paddling pool for the little members of the family.
Small well behaved dogs are welcome with prior arrangement with the owners.
The cottage has a fully enclosed garden to give privacy opening on to a shared area with heated pool and swings. The cottage has a patio area complete with garden furniture consisting of table, chairs, parasol and barbecue for those al fresco meals. Sun loungers are supplied for relaxing with a good book or sunning after a cooling swim.
If you prefer a more active holiday, you can walk or cycle for miles in each direction along the level tow path to medieval Pontivy in one direction, and in the other, to a lovely riverside restaurant for drinks or very delicious meals at moderate prices.
Every morning, a baker stops by the cottage with crusty bread, croissants and other delights.

Ty Da Viken

Only two minutes walk from the centre of the pretty town of Rohan is Ty Da Viken, a detached, south facing, two bedroom Breton holiday cottage overlooking the Nantes Brest Canal in Morbihan. Rohan sits in the heart of Brittany giving the best base to enjoy all the activities and sights that are available in this wonderfully diverse area of France.
The gite Ty Da Viken has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two singles, a modern well equipped kitchen with fridge and microwave, newly refurbished bathroom with bath and shower over. There is a separate wc. In the lounge there is English and French TV, wifi, dvd player and stereo cd player. It is fully centrally heated for winter lets. There is a fully enclosed garden, gated driveway and off road parking. Ty Da Viken also benefits from a garage where you can park your car or store your bicycles. There is also a utility room with washing machine, and storage for wet weather clothing. Patio furniture, sun loungers and barbeque are also provided for outdoor eating in the long summer evenings.
On your arrival, there will be a welcome hamper waiting for you so you need not worry about breakfast on your first morning.
Across from Ty Da Viken is a footpath leading directly to the canal tow path, part of the Velodyssee cycle and hiking route that runs from Roscoff to Spain. Rohan is the start of the second leg of the route, and the medieval towns of Pontivy and Josselin are both just cycle ride away.
There are three bars, three restaurants, two boulangeries, a chemist, hairdressers, banks and a supermarket all within a couple of minutes' walk from Ty Da Viken.
This holiday home is perfect for those who would prefer not to be too rural or remote.
